So...

Ramadan... Ah... I really can't wait!

You know what I'm most excited about? Getting a slight skinnier due to all the fasting. Haha... Aside from that, I wanna make this Ramadan special. Ever since I hit puberty, Ramadan has been more of an annual habit rather than something that's supposed to be cherished and appreciated. So, to break the tradition and to make this year counts, I feel the need to make every single night of this Ramadan incredible. A Ramadan to remember...

I'd like to talk about what Ramadan means to me. Especially what this Ramadan means to me... Sometimes when you talk about why you're excited about something, you'll get why you just are. Here it goes...

Ramadan to me is a month where every person is given an equal chance to do good things. Whether they're only doing it this month or they're starting to do it this month until the rest of their lives, both are truly some Ramadan's gifts. It's the time to celebrate. If you're a Muslim, this is your time to thank Allah for everything you've been blessed with. All your friends, your family, your achievements, your wealth, your mornings, your everything. This is the month to be ten times more thankful than every other month. For those of you who are not celebrating Ramadan, this is your time to show how much of a respectful person you are as a human being, as someone who can appreciate others' beliefs. This is your time to showcase the tolerance you've got in you.

Ramadan is the month where everything gets prettier; the food, the decorations, the people, the mosques, and even you get to feel a lot prettier, too. It's something about Ramadan that we all can be happy about. It's all the moments cherished from the morning prayer until the evening prayer. It's the feeling of eating and appreciating foods that are given to you. It's all the invitation to have small gatherings with some friends, to break your fasting together. It's all the times given to you to spend some quality hours with your family. And most of all, it's every second that you're blessed with to pray, to seek Allah, to whisper to Allah in the middle of the night in between your sound breathing in your sleep, to bring yourself closer to the substance that made you who you are today. It's something about Ramadan that we will continuously miss, whether you're a Muslim or not.

Alhamdulillah, I have been so blessed to be able to experience every Ramadan throughout my almost-18 years of living. Not going to lie, it can get pretty monotonous every now and then. That is why I need to step up the game. I wanna make something different this month. I don't know, pray a little more or spend more time with some family and friends or probably give more things to the needy. Something. I want to put a little twist for this Ramadan so it doesn't get boring or monotonous. I've been lucky to be able to spend 18 years of living and not missing out on any Ramadans, I should be giving something back for that luckiness. So, yeah... It's a new resolution for me to do. Hopefully, I can stick with my resolutions because sometimes saying things is easier than doing them.

Oh, by the way, I'm writing this around four in the morning and how I love listening to the sound of Adzan:) It gives me the sense of peace and provides me with some clear minds. Haha...

Anyway...

I can't stop being grateful for everything that has been happening for the past few months. It is still so amazing for me to feel and cherish all the moments that are given. I'll probably spend some times in my new place near the college I'll be attending and I am so excited to have a new room for the next four years of college. Wow! I just can't... I mean, decorating the room and moving stuff around. Dude, I've been waiting for this moment; to live by myself and you know, learn to take care of myself whilst I'm away from the family. This is actually contradicting my previous point but you get what I mean. I am just utterly excited!

I'm also excited for some new things. The freshmen orientation weeks, the new friends, the faculty of law, the university, I mean there are just so many new things to be excited about and I'm not kidding, yes I am ready for everything that is to come. Changes will be made, chances will be taken, choices will be picked. I can say I am officially legal to be called an adult. That's something to start with... There will definitely be more challenges and no I'm not going to back down and turn around when they come in my way. I hope I can stay strong on my ground and face it like a grown woman:)

Speaking of new things and due to the title of this blog post, I have something sweet scented to tell you...

You know, I don't get excited about make-ups or cosmetics in general. I wear make-up when I want to. To me, those things make my face feel so artificially beautified. Whatever that means... No, I'm not against make up at all. I mean, I use it every now and then. But some days, I just like to stay bare faced with just powder and lipstick. That's all. However, it's another different thing when it comes to perfumes, body mists, colognes, fragrance, whatever you wanna call it.

I am a huge perfume lady. There are only some few things I can spend big money on and that includes perfumes. Shoes, books, and perfumes are three things that I can turn maniac for. I just love them and yes, I'm collecting them and yes, I am responsible for every one of them. I mean, I take care of them with all my heart. So, let's begin.

Shoes. I'm not trying to brag but I have some that I truly like at the moment. Whether it is from the high-end brands or some hand-made, shoes are to die for. Like, how cute can some pairs of heels be. The rose gold straps, the design, the color, the way it compliments my feet. Now, I do sound like some obsessed diva or something... Anyway, yeah... Shoes are one of those thing that I am never not excited to collect. Due to my laziness, I won't show the boxes of shoes that are being stacked on top of each other in my rooms. There are approximately 20 to 21 boxes and I do love every single one of them. Not obsessed but only love...

My favorite at the moment is this white ones with golden straps. It is so summery and it suits the season even though Indonesia does not really experience summer as significant as the upper part of this world. It screams the word 'beach' and let me tell you, it really goes well with your feet. My feet love them. It is so comfortable because it's not weighing you down when you walk, it is so light and just fun. I bought this online from Zalora and I'm sorry I forgot the price. But it is not that expensive. If you're looking for some gifts to wrap for your friends on their birthday, this pair is the perfect gift.

Now, let's move on to books. I will go absolutely mental on this one. I read and I read a lot. Like anything. One time, I was waiting for my dad and my brother in their go-to barber shop to get their hair cut and trimmed. I waited near the door and there were some magazines laid on the racks. I kinda thought that those were for the people who are waiting for their turn but since I was not occupied and a bit bored, I picked one and started to read. I found this article about some intriguing things and I believe it was talking about how the Earth was made, the theories and facts. I was so into it that when my dad was finished I had to literally feel this saddening feeling inside me when I put the magazine down. Yeah, I read and I read a lot.

Books are just eye-opening, mind-opening, heart-opening; it just opens a lot of things inside of us. It gives us perspectives, the freedom to choose from which point of views we should state an argument. And no perspective is wrong when you've spent most of your life's reading. It gives you choices what kind of person you would want to be heard when you're giving your argument. A liberal? A saint? A wise man? An open-minded guy? Reading shapes you into what you want to be pictured in this society. I personally think my way of stating opinions or critiques are bold and naked. I don't sugarcoat what I'm saying and honesty is everything to me. I can say that because I know what I read and I know what those stories are turning me into. And yeah, I love books.

I am currently reading this law-related references. Thank you, Kak Amanda. She is the one responsible for the book. I remember visiting her in her place. We greeted each other and shook each other's hand, the next thing I know that book was held firmly in my hand. I was so eager to read it and to spend time with it during the holiday. I am halfway finished and I am learning a lot. Kak Amanda is currently on her 6th semester of college and I am wishing her the best of luck in everything. There is the book...

And last but certainly not least, perfumes. I can go on and on about perfumes. I just like smelling things that are pleasant for my nose. If you wear perfume and I happen to like the scent, be my best friend. I like it when people smell good. It tells me that the person cares a lot about not just their body but the comfort of others in their company.

Anyway, my dad just got back from Switzerland. He was sent there to do some work or join a seminar, I don't actually know. So, I jokingly asked for a new perfume. I was still using my Ted Baker's collection when I jokingly asked my dad. I didn't think he would buy me new ones because the ones I was using were still half-full. In my mind, I knew I was not going to get any new perfumes. However, he got home safely. Thank God! And he gave me not one, but two new perfumes. Well, he kind of gave it as my birthday present so when I asked what I will be getting he said, "The perfumes are enough." And I just laughed it out loud. Thank you, Dad! And then, I sprayed some on my wrist and smelled it. Let me tell you, the Givenchy one smelled so womanly it gave me an image of myself being wrapped inside a velvet night gown, looking so sophisticated and elegant. Holy cheese, it smells amazing. It became my instant favorite and I can not wait for the days I can actually, properly wear it:') Again, thank you dad!

And just to give you a little sneak peek of my perfume collections, here are all the perfumes I have been using for the past few years:) The Gucci one is from my dad, too. For the millionth of times, thank you dad! Haha...

So, yeah... This post may be all over the place but it screams me...

My birthday is in 17 days, so is my dad's. I am excited but also sad because it means that I am getting older I might lose my playfulness. Haha... I can actually stop being cute and bubbly if I keep getting old. But hey, age is just some numbers. Age does not define your maturity or your childishness. It all depends on how much you've seen and experienced in life. Am I right? Hahaha...

Okay...

So, yeah... (Again...) What are your plans for Ramadan? What do you have in mind? Are there any new resolutions you want to achieve? Where do you see yourself next month? That is totally a random question, but what the heck... And how will you spend your holiday? Are you ready for some breakfasting gathering invitations? How many have you planned? I know the feeling of not being able to choose which one you'll go to:') And what are the three things you can spend so much money on in life?

I hope this Ramadan brings all of us all the love and the luck we need. Whatever kind of person you are, make this month your reason to do good things to yourself, to the people around you, and to the world. You have one month and the rest of your life to do all the best things in life:) Always stay grateful and humble. And please, treat yourself with the things you love the most every once in a while. Just don't get too 'sophaholic' over it... haha:') Take it from me, save some money for college. You'll need it:')

Thank you for reading! See you in my next post!
